Our Story

Chanele and Toni Gelardi

My wife and I have always believed in doing the right thing — even when it’s the hardest thing to do. We are a married couple trying to rebuild our lives after experiencing a devastating series of violations that have left us emotionally, financially, and physically broken.

Our dream was simple: to live sustainably on the road, in an RV we had been saving for, while I — who is 100% disabled and receiving Social Security Disability Income (SSDI) — supported my wife as she transitioned from her 9–5 job to starting her own small business. We had saved carefully for this goal, with a year’s worth of food and supplies ready to start a new chapter.

Then, everything fell apart.

What Happened to Us

Over the past year, our lives have been turned upside down by:

Hacking and Cyber Intrusion — Our entire household network and devices were compromised. Our financial accounts were accessed, our security systems disabled, and personal data stolen.

Burglary and Vandalism — Our apartment was broken into, security cameras destroyed, and our sense of safety shattered.

Illegal Eviction — Despite our rights as tenants, we were forced out unlawfully, losing not only our home but much of what little stability we had left.

Impersonation and Fraud — A person posing as a Social Security investigator contacted us, resulting in SSDI account disruptions and fraudulent activity with our income.

Medical Neglect — Inconsistent treatment and medication errors at hospitals worsened both our mental and physical health.

Criminal Charges While Disabled — During a period of being mis-medicated and mentally confused, I was charged with a crime related to possession of a stolen vehicle — something I did not knowingly commit.

(This is a brief timeline of the detailed timeline with dates, events, reports and those who fell short in helping us below. The detailed timeline will be made available upon professional request)

A Story of Exploitation and Survival

This is also a story about how vulnerable people are exploited, especially those living with disabilities.

When systems fail — when agencies are underfunded, when medical professionals overlook the disabled, and when hackers and opportunists target the most defenseless — people like us become victims of exploitation and neglect.

As victims, we face an uphill battle for justice and understanding. We’ve done everything right: reported crimes, followed legal channels, sought mental health care, and cooperated with investigators — only to be met with silence, delays, or disbelief. Every step forward feels like climbing a mountain without support.
Our Current Situation

I live with PTSD, ADHD, Agoraphobia, Bipolar NOS, and severe anxiety disorders — all recognized under SSDI. My physical health is also declining, and my wife has been hospitalized multiple times due to mental health crises, diabetes, and other medical complications caused by ongoing stress and instability.

Our public defender has admitted she has never represented a client with disabilities before, and is unfamiliar with how to handle ADA accommodations like remote court access — something I rely on due to PTSD and Agoraphobia. Despite our requests and medical documentation, I’m being asked to appear in person, which directly violates my rights to reasonable accommodation.

We continue to experience ongoing hacking, eavesdropping, and privacy invasions, while trying to survive with almost no resources left.
What We’re Asking For

We are urgently seeking:

1. A Pro Bono Civil Rights & Criminal Defense Attorney specializing in representing disabled persons
– Experienced with disability rights, ADA violations, and cases involving trauma survivor.
– Compassionate and ready to stand up for those who’ve been ignored or mistreated by the system.

2. Financial Support for Immediate Needs
– Emergency housing and utilities.
– Legal documentation, filing, and case preparation.
– Replacing stolen equipment and securing communication.
– Transportation, medication, and basic necessities.

Why This Matters

Our story isn’t just about what happened to us — it’s about how easily the vulnerable can be exploited when systems fail to protect them.
We are not asking for pity — we are asking for a fair chance to defend ourselves, rebuild our lives, and ensure that no one else endures what we have. We saved to transition on our terms to a new chapter of being on the road across the country full-time in an RV. Please don’t allow our sacrifice in saving and raising our credit scores to enter the next chapter in life.

We’ve reported every violation to every agency we could — but with funding cuts, backlogs, and indifference, justice moves slowly while victims like us continue to suffer.

We are fighting for dignity, safety, and truth.

The operator asked if I had reported this to the landlord. I responded by saying I have sent multiple emails and I have called the office and the phone just rings. The operator proceeded to ask if this was happening in a public space, to which I replied No, I stay in my home. The operator advised me that this was not an emergency, this conversation has been logged and she was transferring me to non emergency 311 line. I explained to the 311 operator that my neighbors are now videoing and commenting on our bodies, so until an officer comes, I will talk in my own home, saying and doing the craziest things to prove it. The nurse made a copy of Chanele’s medical ID card of her allergies, medication allergies, current medication list and medical diagnosis. At this time, Chanele was also given a pair of her prescription glasses that were dropped off the day prior. The nurse informed us both that Chanele is being held on a Legal 2000 hold and she will be transferred to Southern Hills Pavillion at 4pm for a psych evaluation.( view Evidence file for :Bill, both discharge information from hospital compliance department report and additional information about Chanele conditions – copy of the 3 medical cards and URL for medical history)

May 27th: Early morning, Chanele was sent to the ER at Southern Hills Hospital due to an abnormality in her bloodwork. Chanele explained to the nurses and staff that she has a rare blood disorder ( RBC Morphology Abnormality). The nurses kept telling her she had Sickle Cell, and Chanele responded by saying she does not have Sickle Cell, that she has a rare blood disorder that can only be traced through a Sickle Cell test but it is not Sickle Cell. They kept trying to force her to have a blood transfusion but she denied it every time because it would be fatal.

May 28th: First visit from partner Toni and mother Cheryl at Southern Hills Pavillion 4pm-5pm. They brought copies of all Chanele’s medical records in a black folder and gave it to the front desk receptionist where she put a sticky note on the cover with Chanele’s name on it. The Psychiatrist was told earlier that day that Toni was going to bring these records for them to look over.

May 29th: Toni and Cheryl spoke with the Supervising Psychiatrist and she said she did not receive any medical records that were left in a black folder. She also stated that most likely Chanele will be released on the 31st, if they continue to see improvement throughout the day.

She told him we have been sending emails to Mercedes and emails to company representatives that were given to us back in April, informing them about the vandalism that has been happening, the illegal activity, and the request to change our locks per Metro Police department report. He was trying to say we had to change it ourselves through our own renters insurance, and Chanele explained to him that this is their property and we pay your renters insurance for your property every month, plus we pay our own renters insurance for our own personal property. It is the responsibility of the complex to change their locks on their doors to their apartments for our safety. The locks were changed that afternoon.. (View Evidence file for:same)

June 5th: Mother Cheryl asked if we were going to pay rent because it is due today. Chanele expressed she does not feel comfortable or safe here anymore due to being threatened, harassment, vandalised property, apartment broken into on multiple occasions, vehicle broken into, parking violations even though we have a parking permit. They haven’t even come and checked out the apartments that surround ours for possible squatters and the illegal activity that has been happening. They don’t care about our safety. He said he had the court order signed by a judge and we had to leave.(Text messages 3rd phone IMEI sim carrier information and phone number- Crimestoppers NV report and Ic3.gov))

July 8th: We met Cheryl at Legal Aid. They informed us that this eviction was an illegal eviction because the apartment went through with the eviction in response to the one Chanele filed that was denied and they didn’t combine Cheryl’s response that was approved. Cheryl went down to the court and filed an amendment to the eviction and we had to wait for the judge to look over it.

July 8th: Chanele and Toni checked into Perfect Inn Motel for 2 days.. (View Evidence file for:bill and capital one statement from next visit to Capitol One cafe in fashion show mall)

July 18th: Chanele and Toni drove their friend May and her children to SafeNest to file a restraining order on her on and off again boyfriend Brad. Upon their return home to their apartment at Desert Vistas around 3:15pm, their keys did not work and they were locked out of their apartment once again with no notice. Toni called the office and spoke with Mercedes, the assistant manager. (. (View Evidence file for:text messages)

Mecedes said Cheryl came in on July 16th, turned in her keys and signed paperwork saying we all have moved out and no longer live there, so we walked through the apartment, took pictures and changed the lock. Toni told her that Chanele and I are still living here and our court date is not until the 24th. Mecedes proceeded to say there was nothing she can do because Cheryl already signed the paperwork. Toni replied saying legally she cannot sign for her or Chanele. You need the signatures of everyone, and like I said we are still living here, all our stuff is inside plus our medication, please come unlock the door. Mercades said she had to get the approval from her manager who won’t be back until 4:30pm and she will call us back. It was after 4:30pm and there was no call back. We drove up to the office, and Toni went in to speak with Mercedes. Mercedes said the door lock has been changed back to our keys. Mercedes wanted to have small talk conversation about Chanele’s health, how can someone get hacked through WIFI, someone stole money off her card after going through a drive thru and she went back and yelled at the worker, how her daughter received a scholarship grant for school and as soon as the money hit her daughters account she locked the card so no one would steal it. Toni said yeah it sucks and it is tiring. Mercedes told Toni she should meditate before everything gets to her. Toni walked out and we drove back to the apartment. We walked upstairs, it was 4:55pm and the locks were still not changed back. The office closes at 5pm. We called the office and Mercedes said oh maintenance is on their way. The maintenance man showed up at 4:59pm to open the door and changed the lock back. When Chanele and I entered the apartment, everything was trashed, ransacked, and stuff stolen. They made it look like we trashed the apartment so they could charge us fees for leaving everything behind and trashing the apartment. They violated our stuff and us. Family pictures tossed on the floor, clothes thrown everywhere, papers thrown everywhere, private items like our sex toys taken out of our duffle bag thrown all over the floor, stepped on and broken on the floor, some type of liquid substance all on the floor and all over the black out curtain that was hanging on the window before we left, was now on the floor wet. We took pictures.. (View Evidence file for:AI responses, original emails, text messages and pio email reply)

July 21st: Chanele and Toni go to SSA to change Chanele’s last name. After SSA, Chanele stated she  did not want to return to the apartment anymore. We decided to drive to Kingman Arizona just to get out of town for a minute and think. Once there, Chanele wanted to keep on going so we decided to drive to Phoenix, Arizona to visit Toni’s Aunt Dolly, who she hasn’t spoken to in 8 years. We arrived at the aunts house at 6pm but Dolly didn’t arrive until after 7pm. Toni went inside for about an hour and Chanele was outside in the car. After leaving the aunt’s house, we sat at a gas station for 2 hours. Around 10pm, Chanele told Toni to drive to California.. (View Evidence file for: social security office paperwork and video)

July 22nd: We arrived in Santa Monica, California around 5am. We were going to get a room but there was no point in only getting a room for 4 hours. So we were going to wait until noon and get a room for the night. Chanele started driving all over the surrounding cities of Santa Monica in LA County. Chanele was still experiencing PTSD trauma with auditory hallucinations. Toni was trying to get her out of it but she couldn’t. Toni couldn’t handle how Chanele was speaking and treating her and she just couldn’t take it anymore. Toni grabbed her fathers ashes, a few items she put in her backpack, the newly purchased cell phone that was not set up yet and walked away from Chanele in a neighborhood in Culver City, California. Toni walked a few blocks on Culver Blvd and sat in front of Wende Museum to use their WIFI to set up the new phone. This was before 12pm. It took a while to get the phone set up. Once she did, the only number she had memorized was the cell phone she left with Chanele. She called and sent text messages with her location to Chanele but she did not respond. Toni had a bad feeling and called 911 and told them the situation in fear that Chanele might have been picked up due to the way she was behaving. A police officer showed up within 5 minutes of the 911 call. He said Chanele is in their custody for multiple hit and runs. He said they were not going to charge her for the hit and run but they are sending her to the hospital on a 51/50 legal hold. The officer gave Toni a card to the Culver City Police station and said she could call in an hour to find out more information. When she called after 2pm, the officer said Chanele was transported to Southern California Hospital Culver City. Toni asked about the SUV and the officer said she would need to come down to the Culver City police station, pay the fine and get the SUV released to her. Toni walked from the Wende Museum to the Culver City Police department which took about 25 minutes. When she arrived, the officer told her it would be $308 to release the SUV to her. Toni only had $270 in her Wells Fargo account. She got ahold of her daughter Jocelyn, and she Zelled Toni $60. Toni was able to pay the fine and the officer gave her paperwork to give to All City Tow to release the SUV. The officer told her the address to the impound was on the paper. The address she saw on the paperwork, she took an Uber to was the site of where the SUV was picked up, so after spending $15 for an Uber to the wrong address, she had to spend another $15 to get to All City Tow. Once she got there at 4pm, the representative there said it will be $518 to get the SUV out of impound but the SUV is not at this location but at their sister location 7 minutes away. Toni told the representative that she needed to get into the SUV to retrieve her cell phone to unlock her wife’s Cashapp card to pay them. They told her she needed to go get the phone first and come back before they closed at 5pm. The cell phone Toni had was at 1% battery life and could not use GPS for the 2nd location. The directions from the representative were not clear. Toni walked all over the area, stopping and asking for directions but no one seemed to know where this second yard was. When she finally found it, it was already 5pm and they were closed. Toni then walked back to the main office, in pain, could barely walk from the diabetic neuropathy in both legs and feet, both arms and hands and entire face was numb and tingly. She asked the representative at the main impound yard to call an ambulance. The ambulance arrived and transported her to Providence Saint Johns Hospital in Santa Monica. She was severely dehydrated, blood sugar level was below 70 and had very low potassium. She was given an IV with 2 bags of solution, she was given pain medication for the neuropathy, a few cups of apple juice and orange juice, plus jello to raise her sugar levels. She was given 2 potassium pills and a potassium drip that took an hour to administer all of it. While in the hospital Toni called over to Southern California hospital and spoke with Chanele in the ER. Toni let her know what had happened and that she was alright. Toni told Chanele that she will get over to her as soon as she is released. The nurse said she would be able to see her because she was still in the ER. Toni was released from Saint Johns hospital around 10pm. She used the last $20 she had on a credit card to take an Uber to get to Southern California Hospital in Culver City. Once she got there the staff in the ER waiting room told Toni she could not see Chanele because visiting hours were over at 8pm. Toni had nowhere to go so she sat in the ER waiting room until she was able to get ahold of Chanele the next day. The medical bill from Saint John’s Hospital was $106.06 for test ordered and $1,286.00 for treatment at Saint Johns. . (View Evidence file for: submit all bills hospital(s), police report, geico statement, all city tow and discharge information, hotel bill & chase parking lot parking fee on Chanele debit card for Toni and Chanele)

July 23rd: Around 8am, Toni called the nurses station of the 6th floor, where Chanele was transferred to. The nurse said Chanele would probably see a psychiatrist that day to be evaluated to see if she would still be on an involuntary 51/50 hold. Toni asked if she could see her and they said visiting hours were from 5pm-7pm. Toni asked if they could release Chanele’s property to her so that she could pay to get the SUV out of impound. Chanele’s property was released around 10:30 am and with the $100 that Chanele’s mother had Zelled to Toni, she was able to Uber back to All City Tow. Once she got there, she had to sign paperwork to allow her to walk to the second location and grab her cell phone to unlock Chanele’s Cashapp card to transfer the money to Toni’s Cashapp card. Toni then had to walk back to the main office and pay the $518 to release the SUV and then walk back to the second location to move the SUV off the lot and call AAA for a tow to a tire repair place. AAA came around 2pm and towed the SUV to a tire repair shop 10 minutes away in Los Angeles. To replace the tire with a used tire cost $70. Toni made it back in time to see Chanele at 5pm for the 2 hours of visitation. Parking is not free in California so Toni had to pay $7.56 for 4 hours of parking. Once in the hospital Toni told Chanele she needed to sleep and that she needed to get a cheap motel for the night to rest and shower. After the visit she found a motel in Lynnwood California called Fly Motel for $59 for the night. Before calling it a night, Toni went to Walmart and picked up a few items for Chanele that the hospital did not provide. Earlier in the day, Toni sent an email to Mercedes, the assistant manager at Desert Vista apartments stating Chanele and Toni are no longer living at the apartment and to take Cheryl’s notice as they move out. She was also informed that I, Toni, just got out of the hospital and Chanele was still in the hospital. (View Evidence file for: submit all bills hospital(s), police report, geico statement, all city tow and discharge information, hotel bill & chase parking lot parking fee on Chanele debit card for Toni and Chanele)

July 24th: Toni spoke with Chanele in the morning and let her know she was okay. Toni asked Chanele if she spoke with a psychiatrist yet and she said no she had not spoken with anyone. Toni spoke with the nurse and the nurse said Chanele would probably speak to one later that day since they have 24 hours upon arriving to the psych floor for a psychiatrist to come do an evaluation. Once Toni checked out of the Motel, she drove to Walgreens in Santa Monica to pick up her 10 day Ativan prescription she was prescribed by the ER doctor at Saint Johns hospital. Once again parking is limited on the streets and not free, she had to pay $3.00 for 15 minutes of parking just to run into Walgreens because this Walgreens does not have a drive thru. Once Toni picked up her prescription she drove to Culver City and parked at Veterans Memorial park across the street from Wende Museum and waited until visiting hour at 5pm to see Chanele. This was the only place Toni could sit all day without having to pay for parking. Around 1pm, Victor from Southern California Hospital called Toni about Chanele. He said he works with the main psychiatrist and he said they are still keeping Chanele on an involuntary hold and the psychiatrist that is assigned to Chanele usually does not release her patients for at least 5-7 days. I told him that Chanele is my wife and we are not from California. Toni told him she is not leaving California without her wife. Toni told him Chanele has her, that Chanele is safe with her and she has a therapist back home in Las Vegas, NV, and Toni just needs to get her there. He said he would tell the psychiatrist but Chanele would most likely not be released until the following week. When visiting hours arrived, Toni parked the SUV in the Chase bank parking lot and paid the $7.58 for 4 hours. Once the visiting hours were over, Toni slept in the SUV that was parked in the parking lot of the Chase bank from 7pm to 6am the next morning. There weren’t any parking enforcement officers during this time, and the emergency room to Southern California Hospital was right there so she was able to use the restroom when needed. (View Evidence file for: submit all bills hospital(s), police report, geico statement, all city tow and discharge information, hotel bill & chase parking lot parking fee on Chanele debit card for Toni and Chanele)

July 25th: Toni woke up by 6am and drove to Veterans Memorial Park, which was a few minutes away from the hospital and sat there all day until visiting hours at 5pm. Chanele called Toni late morning early afternoon saying the psychiatrist said she spoke with Chanele’s family and how she was going to get back to Las Vegas, NV. Chanele questioned the psychiatrist asking what family did you speak to? My wife is here waiting for me so we can go back to Las Vegas together. The psychiatrist apparently didn’t understand or was lying about speaking to Chanele’s family because she never spoke to Toni. Toni said to Chanele that she would call Victor and call her nurse once they got off the phone. Toni gave Victor a call and left a message reiterating that she is in Culver City, California waiting for Chanele to be released from the hospital so they can drive back to Las Vegas, Nevada together. She is not going anywhere without her wife Chanele. Toni then called the nurses station and spoke with Chanele’s nurse, who referred to himself as Friday. Toni told him there is some miscommunication and misunderstanding that Chanele does not have anyone here in Culver City waiting for her to be released. Toni told him she is in Culver City waiting and was not going anywhere without her wife Chanele and to please let her psychiatrist know this information and ask her psychiatrist to call her wife Toni. Friday said he would. At 5pm, once again Toni had to pay $7.58 for 4 hours of parking during visitation. During the visit with Chanele, Toni spoke with Friday face to face. Toni said, I am Toni, Chanele’s wife. I am here so you see me and know I am not leaving California without my wife. Toni asked if he spoke with the psychiatrist. He pulled out his phone and read the text message from the psychiatrist saying there is no release set at this time but most likely on Monday the 28th. Toni left the visit and slept in the car across the street in the Chase parking lot in the SUV until 6am. (View Evidence file for: submit all bills hospital(s), police report, geico statement, all city tow and discharge information, hotel bill & chase parking lot parking fee on Chanele debit card for Toni and Chanele)

July 26 & 27th: Toni drove to Veterans Memorial park from 6am to 12:30pm. Visiting hours were from 1pm to 3pm on the weekends. Still had to pay the $7.56 for each day of 4 hour parking. After the visit Toni just stayed in the SUV in the Chase parking lot until 6am the next day. Toni’s cousin Roxanne sent Toni $100 through Paypal so when Chanele was released we would be able to get gas to get back to Vegas. Gas is almost $5 a gallon in California. Toni’s former co-worker Laura Zelled Toni $25 to help us get back to Las Vegas as well.. (View Evidence file for: zelle screenshots on Toni phone)

July 28th: Toni had been sitting at Veterans Memorial Park since 6am. Chanele called Toni saying she was going to be released and for her to call Victor. After getting off the phone Toni called victor and he said he would find out more information after his morning meeting. About 2 hours went by and Victor called Toni back and said Chanele is being released around 1pm. Toni picked up Chanele at release time and we immediately drove back to Las Vegas, NV arriving at Toni’s friend May’s house before 7pm. This was a temporary stay with the landlord Frank’s approval. August 4th: Toni applied for Medicaid and EBT for herself but the case worker at Social Services said she had to add Chanele since we are married and her income has to be added. Toni said Chanele could not apply due to her SSDI and he said she had to apply too for the EBT because her income counts.. (View Evidence file for:4 letters, 2 approved and 2 of cancellation)

August 8th: Toni was approved for Medicaid by herself and EBT was approved for Chanele and Toni. As well as filing the SSDI separate tax; but married and living together form. . (View Evidence file for:insert approved married and living together but, tax separately pink form)

August 9th: Toni saw her old psychiatrist at Psychiatric Solutions and told her about what had been happening and that she has been having panic attacks, severe anxiety and depression. Her doctor called in 3 medications for her. Toni was only able to pay for one medication due to Medicaid not showing as active in Walgreens system.  (View Evidence file for:bill on PayPal)

August 11th: Chanele spoke with Social Services for Medicaid and EBT and requested them to cancel it because she cannot receive any state benefits in any other state other than New Mexico. As of August 11th Social Services was terminated for Chanele and Toni. . (View Evidence file for: letter)

Aug 13: Due to people in and out of Chanele’s cash app account, which she just changed her Disability direct deposit last month for the same thing, except this time someone put money in her account then took it out several times still showing that someone else still had access as well as changing her log in password 2 times. We opened a Chase Joint Checking account with my wife Toni Gelardi and a personal Chase account for my SSDI deposits to go into my personal Chase account. Did not set up online banking so we can go into the bank to transfer money, etc., ordered a separate debit card for each account.. Aug 14th: Went to the Social Security Administration office on Buffalo location in Las Vegas, NV and changed my direct deposit to my personal Chase account.(. (View Evidence file for:same)

Aug 16th: Around 9:30 pm, the Police showed up at Toni’s friend May’s house, where we were temporarily staying, saying someone called the Police from number 725-340-8417. May woke us up to go speak with the Police. We did not call the Police and one of the officers said it is illegal to misuse emergency services. Chanele reiterated that she did not call the Police and neither did Toni. The officer told May that if the Police come out to her address one more time that they will report her to Section 8 housing and that it is in her best interest to have Toni and Chanele leave. So, we were to leave May’s house on Aug 30, 2025. However, that changed a few days later when my wife, Toni checked herself into Desert Parkway Behavioral Hospital, in which I was not able to gain entry. (. August 23, 2025 – 11:45 AM, Toni feeling severely depressed checked into Desert Parkway Behavioral Health. Chanele was supposed to check herself in as well. Toni was taken back to intake first, while Chanele was in the parking lot. Chanele was denied entry to talk to Toni Gelardi, then locked out by someone saying Chanele Gelardi was already admitted. Chanele went to the car and grabbed our marriage license, her social security card and drivers license, pushed it against the glass of the now locked door, trying to prove she is who she said she is, they said they were calling the police. Chanele then called police herself stating her wife Toni Gelardi was abducted as well as calling the FBI tipline. This was the last day Toni and Chanele saw each other, until September 16th.

August 26-27,2025 – Chanele was transported by ambulance to UMC. She checked in under Chanele Gelardi however, they were able to pull her extensive medical records under her maiden name Chanele Lovelace from when she moved here 11 years ago. While in a confused state and altered mental status due to her PTSD, Chanele asked for the staff to check if Toni Gelardi, Cheryl Masani, Jojo Newman, Jocelyn Newman and Jade Newman were there for possible rape test and drug screening. The “officer” intervened when asked for multiple people. She was placed on a hold then explained she needed rape kit and came in voluntarily. The 3rd floor nurses completed a screening, filled out the rape test form with the answered questions, and due to distuburance made with a officer and staff member Chanele was sent out under different name to appointment at Headstart rape center via Lyft. While there, Chanele took another round of antibiotics, received two shots and took another Plan B pill. (Unknowingly that the only 3 pills Chanele would take at UMC included Plan B and antibiotics). Being admitted under Lovelace instead of Gelardi, this is why Toni Gelardi was unable to locate me when she called UMC on 27th, after being released from Desert Parkway Behavioral.. (View Evidence file for:bill for both facilities)

August 27, 2025 – Toni was released from Desert Parkway Behavioral Hospital mid afternoon. A taxi dropped her off at her mother’s motel room. Toni immediately started calling all hospitals and jails, from her mother’s phone, but ended up with no answers to where I was. Toni then decided to call 311, still using her mother’s phone, to file a missing persons report on me. The 311 operator told her it was not a crime for someone to walk away. The operator kept cutting her off and not allowing her to speak to inform them that Chanele is disabled, confused, and might be in danger. Toni was not able to file a report that day. Once Toni received a new cell phone that her mother bought, her daughter Jocelyn drove her back to her friend May’s house, where she was able to stay. Toni posted on her facebook page stating I was missing, my mental health status and “possibly confused.”. (View Evidence file for: screenshots)

August 28, 2025- Toni made a Facebook post on a Las Vegas Crime and Emergency page about Chanele missing and asking for the community to help find her. This was the start of a man named Colton Atcock accusing Toni of killing Chanele and hiding her remains. Toni’s mental health started to spiral downwards.

August 29, 2025- Toni was able to locate our SUV, remembering we purchased the vehicle location service when we purchased the vehicle from the dealership back in June 2025. When she arrived at the location of the vehicle, it had already been towed to Quality Towing CPCN 3069, North Las Vegas, NV 89030 ref# 1452179, where it still is and going to auction on October 29, 2025. Toni was told where it was parked and there was a woman sleeping in it for two days. Currently the amount to get the car out is over $2000. Neither Geico, Gap insurance or the financing bank will pay to get it out so it has been set as a total loss. Since we are co-buyers we are now in debt $12,500 for this vehicle that we have to let go to auction.

After Toni got back to her friend May’s house, she was more worried, confused about where I was at, if something happened to me and something just didn’t seem right. Toni sent a detailed email to PIO in regards to me missing and my mental status. PIO responded back, saying to call 311 and make a missing persons report. Toni called 311 and was able to file a Missing Person report for me, Chanele Gelardi formerly Chanele Lovelace to LVMPD.

Aug 31,2025- Chanele was transported and admitted to Mountain View Hospital, total cost $1460.82. While at Mountain View Hospital, Chanele was given 2 medications consistently for 7 days including: Trazodone and Zyprexa, both on her allergy list.. (View Evidence file for:bill and discharge medication and refused sign due to inaccurate information)

Due to being unable to discharge from the mental hospital without a physical address, they discharged her to Shade Tree. When she arrived, 1 social worker and 1 room/floor attendee explained to Chanele that she had an appointment to receive placement within 48 hours guaranteed while they helped get her identification. Once Chanele realized it was a homeless shelter with multiple people in one room, she explained she is Agoraphobic, has PTSD and cannot sleep in a room with

a bunch of people. They gave her a bottle of water and a bunch of homeless resource papers for food banks, day shelters, Catholic Charities to get clothes, meals, places to shower and instructions on obtaining a homeless ID.

Shada Tree also offered to help Chanele gain access to her SSDI and look for her wife but Chanele declined due to having to go through the locked fence and into the placement area and sleep there to accomplish it. They gave her the Nevada Disability paperwork with the address and phone number to start and reinstate her  Social Security Disability Income.

Sept 2, 2025 –  Detective Lopez called Toni stating she was assigned to her missing persons case and was making a flyer as they spoke to be sent to all hospitals, jails, etc.

LVMPD event #LLV2500000125356 updated missing person.

Sept 5, 2025- Toni was sent a message from Colton Atcock telling her to just tell him where she hid Chanele’s remains. He also posted on the Las Vegas Crime and Emergency Events page saying he wishes Toni would just cooperate with the investigation and lied to people about Toni. These false accusations broke Toni’s mental health to where she wrote her goodbye email to me.

Sept 9, 2025- 5pm Detective Lopez called Toni with an update. The detective said she received a text message from someone in California on September 6th, stating there was a possible sighting of Chanele at a park and she appeared to be homeless. Toni stated if it was Chanele, she doesn’t know how she would have gotten out there, and if that is her she would have gone to Culver City in California because she believes her mother Cheryl and my (Toni) daughters Jade and Jocelyn were kidnapped, drugged and brought to Culver City. The detective said she would reach out to the police department in Culver City in the morning and get back to me.

Around 6:30 PM Chanele was arrested and charged with POSS/RCVD/Trans/Stolen vehicle. Event #LLV25080900066177

September 10, 2025- 8:30 AM, Toni asked her friend May to drop her off at Mountain View Hospital to be seen in the ER for diabetic neuropathy pain in both legs and feet. She could barely walk and was in excruciating pain. From check in, being seen, to discharged took 15 minutes total. She was given Tylenol and a Gabapentin and was told to follow up with a primary doctor. They also sent over a prescription for Gabapentin and Glipizide for her diabetes to CVS. They prescribed her Glipized 10mg twice a day, which is the wrong prescription. That would make her sugar levels drop drastically and would be fatal to her. She is to take Glipized ER 10mg once in the morning.

8:50 AM Detective Lopez calls Toni and informs her that Chanele was arrested yesterday (9/9/25) and is in custody at Clark County Detention Center booked under Chanele Lovelace. Toni asked what she was charged with and the detective said Chanele has privacy rights and is an adult but she could look online. When Toni got off the phone she looked up Chanele’s charges. To her surprise she read that Chanele was charged with Possession/Received/Transfer/Stolen Vehicle. This did not make sense to Toni. Chanele had never committed a crime and always followed the law and rules to everything. Toni also read that Chanele was to appear in court at 1:30 PM that afternoon. Toni called a bail bonds and they said it would be $800 to get her out. Toni had Chanele’s Chase debit cards but didn’t know the pin numbers to get money out or transfer money from Chanele’s primary account that had her SSDI payment in, to their joint account to pay her bail. Toni started registering for a visitation but she has to wait for an approval through the jail. Later that evening Toni looked up Chanele’s booking information and this time there was no bail amount and didn’t know what was going on or what to do.. (View Evidence file for: discharge information and ambulance bill)

September 11, 2025- 4:15 AM Toni looked up Chanele’s booking information again and it read no inmate found with that name. She then called the jail and they said Chanele was released. Toni once again not knowing where Chanele was at, started to feel like maybe she didn’t want to be found and didn’t know what to think anymore. 8 AM Toni was approved for visitation with Chanele but she was already released from custody.

When Chanele was released she was told she was homeless and was living on the streets in a confused state.. (View Evidence file for: police report)

September 12, 2025- Around 11:50 PM, A security guard on Maryland Parkway & Charleston, at the old 99 cents store shopping plaza offered an unopened Arizona Ice Tea to Chanele, due to her trying to look through the trash for an empty cup to wash out and fill up with water. He said she couldn’t go through the trash and gave her the Tea. He said she could stay 10 mins or he would get in trouble for allowing her to stay. Chanele drank the entire Arizona Tea and then lay down behind the building and went to sleep. The security guard returned telling her she had to leave and when she stood up she had trouble standing and was confused holding her head. He asked if she needed medical attention and Chanele responded “I don’t know” and laid back down with his assistance. He called the ambulance. Chanele was transported to Valley Hospital “Patient is confused” (insert security guard police statement work log book)

Sept 13- 17th Chanele was admitted to Valley Hospital. The current bill is $1386.00. Chenele’s blood disorder she was born with, a RBC morphology abnormality with a low white and red blood count made her lab results, as they usually do, too low. Against Chanele’s normal judgement on no blood transfusion, she was offered to be given 3 bags of A+ blood instead of a full blood transfusion, by the doctor. The doctor also stated, this would fix her hemoglobin levels and low iron, in return alleviating the painful head pressure she was having. Chanele agreed to adding the 3 bags of blood on top of her blood. Each bag took 45 minutes to administer. Immediately after my levels were normal. That’s when labs came back about liver. The doctor ordered a new test for liver and

ultra sound for her protruding stomach. The next morning Chanele’s blood levels began to drop back down. Chanele expressed feeling worse and wanting her MRI results from the back of her head. The MRI of Chanele’s head showed the skull fractures she was already aware of, but now a new micro fracture in her skull, located on the far right side of her head above ear.. September 13, 2025- Toni voluntarily checked herself into Seven Hill Hospital, due to not being mentally and emotionally stable. Major depression disorder. . (View Evidence file for: discharge paper work and both bills)

September 14, 2025- Toni did not feel safe and secure at Seven Hills Hospital due to the day staff’s lack of care and treatment. At 6 AM, Toni checked her glucose level, which was around 120, then was given the wrong Glipizide medication. Toni ate breakfast at 6:30 AM, then returned to her room to lay back down. Around 10 AM, Toni started to feel shaky and unwell. Toni walked from her room to the nurses station and asked for her glucose level to be checked. Her levels dropped to 74 which is dangerous for a diabetic. The nurse gave her a cup of orange juice and walked away. Toni drank the orange juice and went back to her room to lay back down. Still feeling shaky and unwell, around 11 AM, the nurse came in her room to check her glucose again since lunch was at 11:30 AM, Toni told the nurse she was still feeling unwell and her glucose probably dropped even lower since10 AM. Toni’s glucose was now in the mid 60’s. The nurse came back with another cup of orange juice and said lunch is in 30 minutes. Toni poured the orange juice down the drain in the bathroom and walked up to the nurses station. Toni told the nurse, she signed paperwork yesterday during intake that she had the right to be transferred to another facility if she didn’t feel the care she was receiving was beneficial since she came in voluntarily. The nurse replied saying she needed to speak with the doctor. After speaking with the doctor, the nurse told Toni that she would have to be released, then go to another facility herself. Toni told the nurse that she would like to be released since she came in voluntarily. Toni was released later in the afternoon back to her friend May’s house via Lyft.. (View Evidence file for:same)

September 16, 2025- After 5 PM, Toni was contacted by social worker Megan from Valley Hospital, asking Toni if she was looking for Chanele and Toni replied, yes. Megan stated Chanele was at Valley hospital and she found my missing persons report after a deep search in the system and contacted LVMPD to get my phone number. Toni immediately packed a backpack full with some of Chanele’s clothes and personal hygiene items, and was dropped off at the hospital around 6 PM and stayed until 9pm with Chanele. While there, Toni noticed Chanele appeared to look homeless,  darker skinned complexion, she had not bathed for who knows how long, the clothes she was in were not her clothes. Toni asked Chanele where she had been and what happened to her after she last saw her on the 23rd of August. Chanele stated she could not remember. She said she was sleeping on the streets homeless and didn’t know where I (Toni) was. Toni asked about getting arrested and going to jail and Chanele said she doesn’t remember allegedly stealing a vehicle, getting arrested, going to jail, going to court, being released or anything. She said people kept telling her she was homeless, that she doesn’t have a wife anymore, that Toni left her. Toni told Chanele that she had been looking for her and that she filed a missing persons report with LVMPD. Toni also told Chanele that she emailed her everyday since she was released on the 27th of August from Desert Parkway, in hopes that Chanele would somehow be able to access her emails and see them. Chanele said she tried to ask people to use their phone but they would tell her no. (View Evidence file for: police report, emails and court email for ada accommodation)

September 17, 2025 – 8 AM, Toni returned to the hospital. Chanele was discharged to wife Toni and back to be a guest at 3909 Sage River Rd, with a prescription to be delivered to that address the next day for liver and anemia (View Evidence file for: paperwork)

September 23, 2025 – 4 AM, a member of the household contacted police due to Chanele’s loudness regarding being drugged and her hearing voices. She was then arrested on a bench warrant for the earlier arrest due to not checking in to level 4 PCU 48 hours after being released from jail on September 11, 2025, and not showing up to court on September 15, 2025. Chanele still was unaware of the original arrest and why she was being arrested this time. Later that afternoon, Toni set up a video visitation with Chanele for the next day at 7 PM. Toni also added money to Chanele’s inmate account because she didn’t know how long Chanele was going to be in jail. Toni also found out that Chanele was to appear in court September 24, 2025 at 8:30 AM. Event # LLV250900086177 Warrant Poss/stolen transf vehicle (. September 24, 2025- Toni took a bus to Downtown to be able to make it to Chanele’s court appearance at 8:30 AM. Once in court, she saw Chanele sitting next to other inmates looking confused and not knowing what was going on. When the judge asked Chanele why she didn’t show up to court, Chanele replied she doesn’t know, she can’t remember and that she is homeless. The judge released her again on PCU level 4. Toni knew she couldn’t leave downtown without Chanele with her. Toni waited by the jail release door from 9:30 AM to a little after 7 PM when Chanele was released. During the wait, Toni booked a room for the night at The D Hotel.

Sept 24,2025 – Sept 25, 2025 – Checked into The D Hotel & Casino with wife after release.

September 25, 2025 to October 3,2025- Chanele and Toni stayed 1 week and a day at ENVI U District weekly apartments due to funds running out, and not getting paid again until October 3rd for Chanele’s SSDI payment. We paid $250 for 1 week and on the 2nd paid $104.00 for one day. During that week, Chanele detoxed from all the wrong medication that was administered to her during all the hospital visits and stays, taking nothing but Benadryl in preparation for a new doctor and psych evaluation to discuss possible re-calibration of medication. During this time as well, the social security office gave the contact information for free social services options that Chanele qualified for due to receiving SSDI as well as, section 811; rental assistants programs, and Hud + FHA loans for first time buyer programs with hud. On the 3rd of October, we then moved to a new location and paid for a monthly studio. Before the move to our new location, Chanele took a 5 panel drug test, which came back negative for everything except benzo’s due to taking Benadryl as ordered by the doctor for anxiety.
