In 2021 two people happened to meet…

Bestselling Author: Ki Lov3 and Toni Gelardi, who have over 10 years of editorial experience in editing, proofreading, and fact-checking, met up in July 2021. When the two met up, they immediately realized their mutual passion for independent authors.

And how much authors are being taken advantage of by Corporations. Once an author signs those dotted lines, they are giving up all or a large percentage of their royalties (that is for life passive income, that is priceless) and the author, then has no control of their content. [Their content can and usually will be completely mutilated, commercialized, and made into a corporate marketable product that is trending and easier to sell, but with the author’s name on it].

The author also has no choice in how they are branded and marketed and must comply with that image of the brand assigned by the corporation, which is in the contract they signed. There are no exceptions to the brand identity that they create for the author, no deviations; the consequences are they will sue you, absolutely destroy your credibility as writer for life, and you will be blackballed in the industry, and now you have gone from a starving author to a bankrupt author who can no longer be in the industry that they are passionate about and love… it all boils down to artistry, creative types, and authors who are passionate about their craft.

The reason is passionate, good artists, authors, and creative types tend to not be as business savvy and also don’t have faith in themselves to be business savvy enough to be an independent author, and by being independent, meaning self-publishing, controlling your content, branding yourself, marketing yourself, and editing yourself.
